Brands Hatch Euro Series F3 : more points for Vietoris

Gravity’s Euro Series F3 drivers were back in action at Brands Hatch this weekend for the 13th and 14th rounds of the competitive junior championship. On Friday, Valtteri Bottas claimed pole position on the 1.929 km Brands Hatch Indy circuit, while Christian Vietoris emerged 4th.
Saturday’s race was stopped after 13 laps following a collision between Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix) and Tiago Geronimi (Signature) after the French driver attempted to overtake the Brazilian on the outside of Paddock Bend. The race resumed a little later and saw Christian Vietoris cross the checkered flag in third place, behind Bottas and winner Mika Mäki.
Sunday’s 52 lap round was determined by two safety car phases, but a fourth place finish brought more points to Vietoris.
“After the Nürburgring race, when my British team-mate Alexander Sims deprived me of a possible victory, I really wanted to beat him here on his home soil,” commented Christian Vietoris. “I succeeded on Saturday, but more importantly, by scoring points in both round this weekend I managed to reduce the gap with Jules Bianchi to 16 points in the overall standings. And I’ll be looking to reduce his lead even more in two weeks time at the next race in Spain.”
